Stefano Larotonda graduated in 2007 with Peter Zumthor at Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio.
He worked for Antonio Citterio and Partners (Milan, IT), East Architecture Landscape Urban Design (London, UK) and Arquint Hitz Architekten (Chiasso, CH).

In 2010 he opened his own studio and in 2018 he founded LAST architettura, which focuses on small-and large-scale projects, research and design. He participates in national and international competitions and receives prizes and awards, including first prize for “Scuola media di Gordola” in Switzerland, first prize for "Ridisegnare Como", first prize for "Riqualificazione della Piazza delle Erbe a Vicenza". He is selected for the "Premio Giovani" of the dell’Accademia Nazionale di San Luca and by Casabella for the "Giovani architetti grattano il cielo" exhibition and in 2023 he receives special mention as a young architect at the BigMat '23 International Architecture Award.

From 2009 to 2023 he taught at the USI Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio and since 2019 he has been collaborating with the Politecnico di Milano.
From 2018 to 2021 he was a Councilor of the architectural association Ordine degli Architetti PPC di Como and head of the cultural department for which he curated researches, exhibitions and public lectures on architecture and the Lario area. He is currently a member of the Council of the Archivio Cattaneo in Cernobbio.
He lives and works between Italy and Switzerland.
