The villa was built in the late 1960s and has lines and features of modernist architecture: pure volumes, compact form and materials typical of the period. Contemporary living needs required the transformation of the villa into apartments and energy efficiency works. The intervention on the shell led to redefine facades’ hierarchies, working on solids and voids that emphasize the power of volumes and the rotation between the levels. The works in the interiors involve the design of two new apartments where the living areas are oriented toward the prealpine lakes and the more intimate rooms are directed toward the garden. The color choice is reduced to two colors, which are inspired by the surrounding: dark green and grey. The smooth green concerns the facades leading to the mimesis with the vegetation; the grey is more expressive thanks to the textured plaster to highlight the volumetric subtractions. The project ends with the artistic work on the terrace that faces the Alserio Lake: the unexpected experience is revealed only to who live in the house. The project enhances the existing building by defining a new language that involves interiors and exterior in a continues experience.
